Inquiry Celebration

All of Matanginui got together today to share their learning in Inquiry. The focus was around sustainability. There were many different presentations on a range of subjects. Here Mrs Hill is holding her lap-top whilst students share their powerpoint presentation.
It was great to see so many parents enjoying the children's celebration of learning. Thank you for popping along =)

Some students presented theirs in posters

Amy and Nicole share their inquiry on cheetah's (powerpoint) with the other classes in their group.

Everyone enjoyed listening to what others had been doing, it was all very interesting!

Lisale and his 'thinking buddies', Ethan and Isaiah, inquired about the endangered Macaw's and asked 'How can we sustain a healthy population of Macaws?"

RE in Fearless Four

We have an amazing RE teacher, Brenda Unwin, who comes in every Thursday with her beautiful grandson. She is always smiling and we love having her in Fearless Four. Last week Mrs Unwin came in with baking for us. Instead of washing our feet, she had baked us chocolate-chip cookies. Mrs Unwin does some awesome activities with us. We have made poppies for Anzac Day, Christmas Cards, Easter Art . . .

Brownie!

We had a great time making chocolate brownie yesterday. First we watched Miss K make a batch and then we got into groups of 4 or 5 and set about making our own batch. Cracking the eggs was fun and using the electric mixer was a first for some of us.

Once we adjusted the recipe to suit the classroom microwave (add another minute if your microwave is not powerful) we successfully made five batches. Today we got to taste test it. . .YUM! Everyone loved it! We have all taken some home to share (yes, all of us!) so we hope you enjoy it too. We have the recipe in our Daily Dash so that we can make it at home for you as well. Here are some photos of us making it =) Oh and we did do some writing too! A recount using similes, adverbs, adjectives and our five senses and we rewrote the procedure in our own words. Lots of learning going on in Fearless Four!!
